I would not recommend this vet i took my cat with a sore paw from fighting with another cat and the vet took my cat from me told me shouldn't give me it back and called the sspca and social work on me because my 6 year old daughter with additional needs claimed the sore foot was because her yonger brother flung him downstairs the vet had already confirmed that my cats foot had an abscess from another cat bite but they took my cat from me left my 6 year old daughter in tears and went in to call a social worker who reiterated my daughter has Additional needs and that I care greatly about my cats they then contacted sspca who appeared at my home but also informed my cats are extremely well looked after and also agreed that no vet on this earth has the power to take someone's beloved animal the way abbey vets did the emotional distress to my cat my children myself all for nothing will not be back at the vet and will be taking my complaint

Although I had made an appointment which I was 10 minutes early I had to wait 40 minutes. Was happy with the vet but the cost has went up drastically. I feel for anyone who loves animals but can’t afford them due to corporate vets prices.

Abbey vets have looked after my pets for nearly 20 years. From the reception staff to the vets, everyone i have encountered has been friendly, empathetic and 100% put the needs of my pet first. I have developed mobility issues and need help and support to attend, Abbey Vets have slotted appointment times around when best suits me and indeed one vet dropped by first thing in the morning to lift my large dog into the car for me! Recently my 20 year old cat was ill and attending regularly and he was treated with the respect the old gentleman deserved and he looked forward to his visits. When he died, I was given so many hugs and one of the receptionists rang for a taxi for me. My elderly dog regularly attends as he has cancer and arthritis and the vets have done everything in their power, through surgery and medications, to ensure he lives as long as he can and is comfortable. I like continuity for my pets and they have always been seen by the same two vets and getting appointments with them has never been a problem. Vets aren't cheap but hey neither is private health insurance for humans and you would be shocked if you knew what your NHS treatment actually cost. The cost of living crisis affects everyone and the hike in utility charges hits Veterinary surgeries too. I have always had pet insurance but accept that this is becoming more and more unaffordable. I have attended other vets in the past who never showed any empathy and were all about the money. I have never encountered that with Abbey , ever. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. Also noteworthy that they are on call 24/7 365 days a year. Not many practices offer that security. I have rung many times, out of hours, for advice and always been reassured and offered a follow up face to face appointment next day if warranted. Highly recommend Abbey Vets.
