About

Bishops Castle Vets in Shropshire is an independent mixed practice treating small animals, horses, and farm livestock. A veterinary practice has operated in Bishop's Castle for over 120 years.

Percy Allwood joined in 1971 and has remained for over fifty years. The practice moved to its current premises on the industrial estate in 1993. It has expanded significantly from its origins, when small animal work comprised only a couple of appointments per day alongside around fifteen daily farm visits per vet.

Jess and the team recently had to do a caesarean on my Norfolk terrier out of hours, her professionalism was outstanding, clear about the procedure and more so Bella has made a remarkable recovery with no complications. Thank you so much.

Needed them as an emergency vet whilst visiting the area. Excellent service and so much less expensive than our own vet.

I was on holiday when my dog became unwell and I took her to Bishops Castle vets where she got excellent care. I can’t fault them. If it wasn’t a five hour drive I’d switch to them as my dog’s regular vet!
