About

Dixon and Young is an independent small animal veterinary surgery in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, established in January 2020. The practice offers consultations, routine and emergency surgery, dental work, diagnostic imaging including ultrasound, digital X-ray and endoscopy, plus in-house blood analysis for same-day results.

The practice regularly hosts an orthopaedic specialist for in-house referrals, avoiding the need to send patients elsewhere for many orthopaedic procedures. Out-of-hours emergency care is provided through Vets Now. The surgery also treats exotic pets alongside the usual cats and dogs.

Best vets I have ever been to in over 40 years. Really care about the animals and so helpful.

Really good vets aren't just after your money. Care for your animals and put them first. I have bulldogs hard to find a vet that understands them. I'd highly recommend this practice the best in the area.

Extremely disappointed with my experience. I took my miniature dachshund in for a health check and to have a new mass on her nipple examined. I wasn’t sure if it was a cyst or something more serious, so I wanted proper guidance. My mum brought her in for me as I was running late, and while she was trying to explain my dog’s medical history, the vet was rude, kept interrupting, and even made an unnecessary comment along the lines of, “Well, if you had cancer, I couldn’t tell just by looking at you.” Completely unprofessional. My dog was then taken inside while we were left waiting outside under a shelter. When she was brought back, we were simply told she needed surgery next week—no explanation, no discussion of what it could be, no pros or cons, nothing. We were expected to speak through a window instead of having a proper conversation. Overall, the whole experience left me with zero confidence. I’ve only been registered for a week and will definitely be moving my pets elsewhere.
