About

Fishguard Veterinary Services is an independent mixed practice in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, treating small animals, equines and farm livestock. The practice relocated in 2015 to a purpose-built clinic with expanded facilities and modern equipment. Services include surgery, microchipping, vaccinations, pet passports and emergency care.

The practice employs four full-time and two part-time vets along with ancillary staff, giving it notable capacity for a rural Welsh town. Its purpose-built premises were designed to serve farmers and equine clients alongside companion animal owners, and the surgical facilities incorporate current anaesthetic and monitoring technology.

My good friend adopted my dog when I left the UK. She loved and adored him. When he came to his final days we were in touch and decided it was best for him to go. I gave permission and also paid for the bill over the phone with my credit card, which was ridiculous for an euthanization. £140. So when my friend arrived 2 days later with the doggie that the most awful thing happened. They brought him in, got him on the table where the vet said there was no record of permission being given and no payment. So in one of the worst moments of her life waiting for her dog to be put down , the staff are all flapping around looking through the files. It took forever for them to say sorry and that's only because I asked for one. What a disorganised, bunch of untrained staff there and highly unprofessional at that. Plus the vet calling the owner upset about this review shows more unprofessionalism. 2 days after Paddy is euthanized, not appropriate!!

The team here are absolutely incredible. So compassionate, kind, and patient. I genuinely feel that pets are cared for like family, not just a number.

What a great practice! All staff are very responsive to both animal and human needs. It is such a friendly place and creates a great sense of trust because it is also efficient and so well run. Love the fact too that it is an independent practice and family run. Thank you for being the best veterinary pratice I have been to over the last 20 or more years.
