About

Fond Farewell Vets is a mobile veterinary euthanasia service operating across Dorset. The practice provides home visits for end-of-life care for dogs and cats, allowing animals to remain in familiar surroundings during their final moments.

The service is focused entirely on at-home euthanasia, removing the need for a potentially distressing journey to a clinic. Visits are carried out by qualified veterinary surgeons who travel to the pet's home. The practice serves the Dorset area and positions its work around supporting owners through the process of saying goodbye in a calm domestic setting.

This really is the most wonderful practice to allow your pet to have the most calm, peaceful and dignified goodbye. We could not have wished for a more perfect final goodbye to our wonderful whippet girl, whilst she was cuddled with us on the sofa and with all her canine friends around her. The service, the compassion and the thoughtfulness were exemplary. After 14 years of love this was the very least we could do for her - I could not recommend James and Suzy any higher

We cannot thank James and Suzy enough for the service they provide. Saying goodbye to our beloved Angel in our home with the support of James was calm, peaceful and reassuring. The aftercare and compassion for us and our darling doggy has been a great comfort. From the handwritten condolence card to the personal return of Angel’s ashes to us following the respectful individual care and cremation by Debbie, we have genuinely felt supported and cared for at a most traumatic time. Angel 2010-2026 she was so loved and is dearly missed ❤️

Back in May our lovely Westie Mabel had some issues that the vet thought she might not recover from. We spoke to James at Fond Farewell Vets and he reassured us that she would most likely be back to normal in 2-3 days. And she was! We had another 7 months with her, but last week we knew that we needed to call James again as she was in a bad way - he immediately confirmed that he'd come and see her. His calm demeanour when he arrived immediately helped us know we were in good hands and he confirmed that we were doing the right thing for Mabel. He talked us through everything and gave us space and time to say our goodbyes. He made a hard situation that bit easier to get through. We're so grateful to James and Suzy that they offer this service and that we were able to say goodbye to Mabel at home.
