They looked at my dog several months ago after a lump appeared on her side and many smaller lumps appeared all over her. They told us it was likely cancer and that we would need a biopsy. They also did a blood test and found cancer. cells in the blood but they felt that we must work on the lump. We questioned why it would be good to biopsy before just removing the lump and They told us it could make the cancer worse if they didn't biopsy first. The biopsy was done and 3/4 of the lump removed. Of course it was cancer so they now prescribed another operation to remove the remaining 1/4 of the lump. It was just a way of manipulating 2x operations out of us whilst completely disregarding my 13 year old dogs well being and best interests. We sought a second opinion from another vet who advised us there was no real point in the second operation or even in the first that we had had. The cancer was everywhere and picking at one little bit of it wouldn't help. It would just be unnecessary suffering for my beautiful dog. Pepper died this week from complications with her liver, due to the fact her liver was infected with cancer. Ive lost my shadow, ive lost one of the most lovely personalities i have ever known. Gkg were only interested in lining their pockets and prescribed operations that simply added to my dogs pain and suffering. There was no point working on the lump, it was already in her liver at that time and probably everywhere else. Go to Berkshire vet instead or indeed try any other vet. Don't go to this one they are heartless, and cruel, willing to be put an old dog through unnecessary discomfort and pain in order to get some money in the till.
