So on the 3rd January while out in the snow my Border Collie Willow got a bit to excited and jumped in the air and ended up snapping her tib and fib. With it been a Saturday and just after mid day no vets in Scarborough were open so panic set in. The out of hour vets for Scarborough quoted over 7k over the phone for a broken hind leg and wanted payment before they would do anything to help her or the other alternative they gave was to have her but down. A friend recommended contacting Grace Lane and I phoned and was told to get her there as soon as possible and we could sort payment out when the vet had got her put of pain. On arrival the vet was so polite with us had a very quick look at willow and said she was give her some pain relief, give her a xray and make the leg more comfortable and the surgeon would phone me and go through everything and at this point payment wasn't a issue. Within 45 minutes of leaving Willow the vet phoned and explained that Willow had already had a xray and was out of pain also the surgeons had already seen the xrays and was planning on trying to operate on her leg on Monday. (Couldn't believe how fast the vet and surgeons had acted) on the Monday the surgeon phoned and went though the full procedure and answered and questions I had. After the operation a nurse phoned and explained that she has had two plates and 5 screws put in her leg and she was in recovery. I had a veterinary nurse phone twice a day to give us up dates. On the Wednesday we went and picked Willow up and was given all the medicines we needed and was also given travel sick medicine as Willow gets travel sick. Willow has had a follow up appointments and now on week 9 she is back to get normal self fully recovered (she still wants to jump about and hates been told NO your not jumping) the total cost for everything was over 50% cheaper than the out of hours vet for Scarborough. The staff and service has been fantastic. Pricing is explained in detail and is transparent. Would highly recommend this vets.

Whilst on our holiday we had an out of hours visit as Thibaut our Parsons terrier had virus type symptoms. Excellent service, Rachel was very thorough and treated him accordingly. Nothing was too much trouble.

I was so disappointed with grace lane, my dog went in for a CT scan he was fine going in but once he came out he was very needy, not his character at all and very soon after started with a horrific hot spot where they took blood, when I called the receptionist she replied it happens regularly well im sorry but no it shouldn't. I contacted my own vet and after a double course of antibiotics and a course of steroids it finally started to heal after 2 weeks so definitely won't be going back there.
