About

Jaffa's Health Centre for Cats is an independent feline-only practice in Salisbury, treating cats exclusively rather than operating as a mixed or multi-species clinic.

Established in 2013, the practice was set up as a deliberately cat-specific alternative to general veterinary practices. It operates as a family-owned business outside corporate ownership and takes an approach that questions routine annual vaccination protocols where clinically appropriate. The single-species focus means the environment, equipment, and clinical routines are all designed around feline patients without the presence of dogs or other animals.

From the time I first visited and was shown around by Jill, until I took my beloved cat Freddie back for his post op. check I have been nothing but impressed by Jaffa's and the wonderful, caring staff. Having recently moved to Warminster we needed to find a vet to carry out some fairly major dental treatment for Freddie and, although Jaffa's is over 20 miles away, chose them as they are specialists in cat care (including dental work) and treat only cats. I'm so glad I did. Everything was clearly explained to me. After the x-rays were done Pete called me to say that several extractions were the best thing for Freddie. He assured me that he would manage perfectly well without those teeth. After the surgery (which also involved an overnight stay) Pete called me 3 times (even around 10pm!) to let me know how Freddie was doing. That was so much appreciated. When I collected Freddie, Sarah (who did the surgery) showed me the x-rays and explained the reasons for each extraction. I was given his post op. meds with verbal and written instructions about what to do and was told I should get in touch before the follow up appointment if Freddie or I were unhappy. There were no complications and Freddie is doing very well. Jill handled the insurance claim with Petplan, which was great. There is so much to like about Jaffa's. They obviously love cats and really care about them. Pete even asked me what litter Freddie used at home so they could give him the same type to help make his stay as comfortable as possible! They don't give routine treatments such as vaccines unless they are necessary. They consider the needs of each cat according to their health and circumstances. All the staff I met were very friendly and helpful, including Millie at reception. They made me feel that Freddie and I were important to them and that Freddie's wellbeing really mattered. Thank you all so much for everything you did to make a somewhat traumatic experience as painless as possible for us both! I thoroughly recommend Jaffa's to care for your cat.

I just wanted to say an absolutely huge thank you to Jaffas. I turned up on their doorstep after an emergency night, (for our much beloved cat who had broken their leg) at the vets having gone to my vets to find out all vets were sick and told you need to find another vet. Jill and her team literally scopped us up, took us in no hesitation and were so helpful. The set up is so considerate to cats, it's a quiet managed environment and they even have trolleys to stop the cats rolling in their cat bags, they ask what theyre fed etc so minimal disruption. They took us in, looked after our cat all day, treated him and we went and picked him up later. There was no rushing, no pressure no unnecessary pushing of procedures and the bill was very reasonable considering! Thank you very much from all of us (I'm not advocating you all go turn up on their doorstep please 🤣)
