I came to Medivet because my dog Has a small lump on his eyelid The vet said it was nothing to worry about but he would have to have it removed. He gave us an estimate of how much it would be. He said £200. I went to the receptionist and she said no it would be between five and £600 my mum then called out, to talk to the manager and she then gave another price of 1700 hundred why this is going on the vet said that that price is ridiculous and it shouldn’t be no more than £200 the woman in reception with the short blonde hair was a very rude and abrupt towards me my mum explained to the woman that my dog is my therapy dog and she didn’t seem like she cared at all I was been telling my friend about what happened at the vet and she told me she used to work there and that the receptionists put money on top of the prices to pocket it and take it home which I find ridiculous in itself, so no I will not be returning to Medivet because of this situation The vet also said he would do the surgery for £200. We just had to ask the manager and she said no because the vet knew he was my emotional support dog

Very rude receptionist who claimed to be manager. I booked my puppy who has been imported in to the vets as I noticed she has a single stitch remaining from procedure carried out by her breeder in Russia. I explained this to the receptionist I booked the appointment with that she is a IMPORT although they never asked I explained it’s a single stitch and can bring her passport etc in if need be, none of this was asked for but I offered to bring in if needed. Today I needed to check the time of my appointment as I wasn’t sure if 12 or 12:30 the person on the phone incredibly hostile from the first hello. The lady asked what her appointment was for so I said “removal of single stitch” to which she started to bombard me with questions in a hostile tone which is fine to be curious and ask the question. I did ask why so many questions considering the lady who initially booked my appointment literally asked my generic details for my self and my pet. I said to the lady on the phone today I understand you asking questions but what your asking if anything should of been asked on the initial phone call when I booked the appointment she seemed very irate and told me not to come to the practice or bring my dog to them which I can’t quite understand to be honest. She bombarded me with questions regarding my dog which I answered every question but when I asked her “surely if this is protocol why was I not asked on the first phone call not when I’m calling to double check the time” she tells me not to bring my dog to practice even though I told her I’d bring relevant papers work and passport. Bizarre behaviour considering I had to wait a week to get this appointment to now on day be told Don’t attend. To be honest I should of listened to the few mastiff owners I spoken to prior in regards to finding a local vet I was warned to stay away but I previously took my sausage dog and had a average experience And thought it would be the same but I guess different breed of dog you get a far different reception. Very unfortunate and unfair on my self and my pet especially when I was bringing her passport and paper work as I told the lady. Hopefully no one else’s time is wasted by this practice when seeking help for there pet.

can’t say nothing bad about these vets! they cared for my girl, and when it came to that time, no nonsense, everything was done with care and dignity for my bow! the cards with her paw prints had me in bits, so lovely, i personally would recommend them, the vets are wonderful! thank you for everything ☺️
