Medical care was fine, but Medivet are too focused on profit. I've been with this vets for 5 years and only started looking elsewhere when the CMA pointed out that the chain vets were engaged in a few too many dodgy practices. It turns out that there are a number of vets who offer lower price and better care. My dog is terrified of vets. It wasn't always like this, it was only after her first surgery here. Now when I drop her off for surgery she's shaking uncontrollably. Several things I've learnt discussing this with a different vet, the 8AM drop off is to make scheduling easier for the vets at the cost of the pets comfort. For me, the thought of my dog shaking in fear for several hours before surgery was terrible. At my new independent vets, you can get them there in time for surgery, not a blanket 8AM. I was also impressed to learn that they have separate rooms for cats and dogs and the cages aren't metal so they don't rattle. As a bonus, they're also cheaper and the CMA haven't got an open case against them for profiteering! Short version, I've found a new vet who will be more focused on my dog and less on profit. I encourage you to investigate alternate options too.
