About

Nova Veterinary Centre is an independent small animal practice in Newport, Shropshire, holding Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation. Run by three local clinicians, the surgery provides consultations, vaccinations, dental care, microchipping, neutering, and surgical procedures. It maintains separate waiting areas for dogs and cats.

The practice features in-house laboratory and diagnostic imaging equipment alongside a surgical suite and hospitalisation facilities with separate dog, cat, and isolation wards. Nurse-led clinics cover weight management, senior pet wellness, and chronic condition monitoring. Out-of-hours advice is available through a linked online veterinary service.

I cannot speak too highly of the attention that we were shown on my/our two visits this week. The centre is both comfortable and inviting and staff are tremendous. Moss has always been terrified of visits to the vet but he very quickly settled this morning in the atmosphere which you provide. Sam was superb and I am profoundly grateful to her. She dealt with both Jet and Moss at ground level and this morning she did something which I have never observed before in a practice, she approached Moss quarter on at his level with an extended hand so presented no challenge to an already apprehensive dog. Thank you to all of you.

Highly Recommend... I recently changed vets, after my previous vet of 30 years retired. I was drawn to Nova Vets, because they are independent and not part of a chain. My hope was to find a practice that could provide the same level of continuity of care that my previous vet had done. I am more than happy to say that I think I have found exactly that, with Nova Vets. All the staff that I have encountered have been, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful, the waiting area and consulting rooms are peaceful, and there is a separate waiting area for those of us with cats. I took my 6 month old kitten, Nico in for a check up for what turned out to be a minor issue. We saw Sam, the vet, who was gentle and understanding, allowing Nico to make his way out of the box, in his own time, no reaching in to grab, no rushing and happy to listen to my thoughts and concerns. Nico had a very positive experience, and was not stressed out in the slightest, just showed quite interest and acceptance. Both Nico and his littermate Sass, were neutered at Nova Vets and both recovered well, with very neat and tidy operation sites.
