About

Pelyn Vets in St Austell is part of the Kernow Veterinary Group, an IVC Evidensia practice providing veterinary care across Cornwall for more than thirty years. The clinic is accredited as a Cat Friendly Clinic and treats companion animals, equines and exotic species, offering dermatology, behavioural advice, surgery and vaccinations.

The Kernow group runs its own round-the-clock emergency service staffed by its own vets across four clinic locations, avoiding reliance on external out-of-hours providers. A separate farm and equine arm operates alongside the companion animal clinics. The group is also an approved nurse training centre.

Very disappointed with the unkindness these Pelyn veterinary Group. Not only did they shave our dog's full head without informing us when he went in with an eye issue!! We recently had our little man put to sleep and they even wanted to charge us an early cancellation fee of £60 for early cancellation of the Pet Health Club disgusting. Our dog had been a loyal member to this company for 18 years and this is how they treat us. Would Not recommend go to Beacon independent caring.

Pelyn vets have been absolutely amazing with our dog 'Buddy' over the years. Everyone in the team are so lovely and looked after Buddy with kindness. The receptionists and Jenny Beard were great making sure our appointments were suited to us and they listened to our wishes of what was best for Buddy. Then we met vet 'Dean Barry' who saved Buddy's eye but best of all he was so amazing with Buddy, treating Buddy like one of his own dogs. Sadly Buddy became really poorly and had to be put to sleep last week. Dean was again amazing with Buddy and showed him the dignity and respect he so deserved. Thank-you Dean. Buddy was 14 years old and had a great life. He was an amazing dog, very loyal and a great companion and will be missed so much. Highly recommend Pelyn vets.

Recently had to let my beautiful dog go. Dean who dealt with his last few visits was brilliant with him and thoughtful throughout out. His knowledge of a dog who has lost his sight had no boundaries. Pip has always been great with Dave in his many visits for skin problems. Every one we saw in between were just as good. On his last visit to Lostwithiel branch Dean was thoughtful and caring throughout towards Dave, making him super comfortable and relaxed and thoughtful of me and that meant such a lot. My 7th dog, my first experience like that. Hope not to have to do it again but I really appreciate the time and effort and support. The after care, card and respect was so thoughtful and kind. Very caring staff throughout the whole process from the beginning to the end. Thank you to everyone who played apart in caring for him over the years.
