About

Quietus Vet is an independent home-visit practice covering Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Sheffield, specialising in end-of-life care for dogs, cats, and small pets. The service focuses on in-home euthanasia using a three-stage process that includes sedation and general anaesthetic before the final injection.

The practice is run by a husband-and-wife team and operates exclusively on a visiting basis. The three-step clinical protocol is designed to minimise distress during the procedure. Quietus Vet also provides quality-of-life assessments to help owners with end-of-life decision-making.

I cannot recommend Quietus enough, after making the difficult decision that is was time to let our beloved cat Ivy go we rang and what we received from start to finish was a compassionate and professional service. We rang on the Wednesday and booked for the Friday, Paul was able to give us a time slot to work with, explained each step of the process so we knew what to expect and gave us time to look at the options for the cremation and receiving her ashes back, he also made it clear that Yvonne was coming and not him. On the day Yvonne made, what was a difficult situation so much easier, she explained how things would go and explained how cats normally react to the the injections, the entire process took around 45 minutes from start to finish for us, it consisted of three injections, they weren't rushed and we felt we had ample time to spend with her in her final moments, but there were also other aspects that really showed the compassion, to the basket she was put in for transportation after she passed to the handwritten card we received from Yvonne. The service is expensive, however you get exactly what you pay for and both me and my partner thought it was worth every penny, to ensure the final moments were in her own home, in her spot and unstressed, it also made it easier for us with less to worry about, if ever we found ourselves in the same situation again we wouldn't hesitate to contact Quietus as we really cant recommend them enough.

Yvonne from Quietus vets was amazing, she was so compassionate and kind. Bailey spent the last hours of her life at home in her own environment with her family around her until the very last minute! Yvonne didn’t rush us, the 3 injections gave us time to say our goodbyes with Bailey calm and relaxed, before she quietly slipped away. Bailey was taken away and returned to us 2 weeks later following an individual cremation in a lovely slate urn. I can’t thank Yvonne and Paul enough for a calm and dignified goodbye to our beautiful girl Bailey.

I contacted Paul when we had to make the difficult decision to part with our friend of thirteen years due to severe ill health. Paul was professional from the outset, explaining the procedure on the phone. He was even able to offer advice on how to make Alfie more comfortable when I rang him in a panic to see if he could attend earlier than planned (he did) as Alfie had taken a turn for the worse. On the day that we dreaded, Paul could not have been more caring and he gave us as much comfort as he did Alfie. The 3 stage process was unhurried and we were given time to spend time with Alfie as he quietly slipped away. We cannot thank him enough as he made a difficult time easier for us to bear and, more importantly, easier for Alfie to pass with dignity and without pain.
