I had a very disappointing experience with Sore Paws when my dog went in for a dental procedure. I dropped her off at 08:30 and was told the dental would start around 11:00 once the general anaesthetic was administered. However, I received no updates all day and eventually had to call at 17:00, only to be told the dental hadn't long started at that point.
I was asked to make payment over the phone before collecting her at 18:15. When I arrived, she was still heavily sedated. She could barely walk, was drooling excessively, and couldn’t even stand to go to the toilet without my support. It was distressing to see her in that state. In my opinion, the clinic should have postponed the procedure if they were running behind, rather than rushing to complete it so late in the day and sending her home before she was properly recovered.
To make matters worse, I was also incorrectly billed, and at no point during any of my three visits (including when I returned due to a complication) did I see or speak to a vet.
Overall, my experience left me feeling that Sore Paws prioritises money and high turnover of appointments over the welfare and comfort of the animals in their care. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this veterinary practice.
