About

Southside Veterinary Clinic is an independent small-animal practice in Glasgow, Scotland, holding Fear Free certification. The surgery provides a wide range of services including dentistry, orthopaedics, cardiology, diagnostic imaging, laboratory work, and surgical procedures. Exotic species are treated alongside cats and dogs, and same-day appointments are available.

The practice offers a pet health plan, pet passport services, grooming, microchipping, and nurse-led clinics for routine checks. Its independent status means clinical decisions are made in-house rather than directed by a corporate parent, and the surgery positions itself as a community-focused clinic.

This was our first time with SVC and they were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful and our wee dog was so very well looked after. Highly recommended!

Their negligence and blasé attitude killed my dog. I don't say this lightly and it's been several months now, but I want people who go here to understand that the staff here have displayed a lack of care on a medical level that in my opinion led to the preventable death of my dog. I originally came to them for help with his teeth, which they operated to remove seven of. This to their credit, went over well despite his heart problems, however it became quite clear that he developed tremendous problems eating after that and I poceeded to come and seek help from them several times over the course of a half year. Every time my concerns over his clearly apparent issues and symptoms were shrugged off, saying his vitals are normal, there's nothing wrong with him. He died of a ruptured gall bladder after I had once more gone to see them and said the colour of his stool was concering, but did nothing and didn't even tell me to go to the hospital. Just gave him back to me and told me to keep an eye on him. I had to rush him to the emergency vet that night when it got worse and when they finally got him under for surgery he just couldn't take the anaesthetic anymore. They next day Southside vets called me about something and when I told the person he passed away, she that "oh, that's fine." A word directly to southside vets: do not dare to contact me. Do not answer this review. I do not want to hear a word out of you. "That's fine" was plenty. I genuinely hope you go and find a different career.

We took our wee babe here for consultation after he had fluid drained from his chest but he couldn’t be saved unfortunately and he was suffering so we made the tough decision to put him to sleep. The euthanasia process was quick and painless. We got to spend his last moments with him. The vet was incredibly patient and understanding. I appreciate all of the staff at Southside Vet Clinic for their compassion and kindness. I would highly recommend them. Thank you so much.
