Hey brilliant team
Not only did you work with us to help or lab x mastiff and his arthritis - after being threatened with surgery - you all
got our boy back on his feet.
A few weeks ago we all noticed him
slow down and not manage his usual physio. there or at home (owners- do their home physio as instructed at home!!!)
Turns out Jackson had a 5cm vascular tumour on his spleen. Really tough decision - it ruptures and he bleeds then dies. Vs he is 11 and may not survive surgery or post op.
So! Being black and white - surgery.was the only option. If he died on the table then he was with his favourite Vet Helen at Stable Gen Vets. and would know nothing Our hearts of course would snap
so he had a splenectomy on monday gone and the tumour and spleen came out on one piece.
his recovery is below- without the physio’s physio assistants vet and following our painful hearts - he would t be alive much longer. You should see his lordship now! happy brake, eating and drinking and getting me his toys. slowly slowly of course.
His life started being dumped in a landfill
and only him and his sister lived. This kind, angelic, boy cares for the whole pack (4) and it’s beautiful to see him recovering.
Thank you to this amazing and determined team who hear the digs voices and the people trusted to hold their souls
Thank you
.
Just wanted to update you on Jackson if you could share it on your work WhatsApp?
Jackson had a very stable anaesthetic on monday and the Spleen and Tumour were removed in one piece. He came home that night and had morphine injections (i love my vet) throughout the night.
He has been the Jackson we know and love - strong, stoic and follows care orders!
Today is day 5 and he saw the vet this morning. We await histology however he has been DISCHARGED!
He has his waist back! He barks with shear happiness and even gets toys! he demanded a walk today.
He is eating, drinking and pooping!
So the worst is over and NO shortness of breath.
YOU as a team made him fit for this surgery - little did we know.
You, the vet, jackson and us have worked as one. This is how is should be for humans.
He’s no longer on morphine and the Vet feels he could restart post op physio after week 2
Very slow and steady
What a boy! Thank you to an awesome team who we truly consider our friends or at least on our side
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
