Thank you to vet Dawn and reception today. Unfortunately our beloved cat Casper took a turn for the worse after some emergency treatment 3 weeks back had failed to provide a long term solution. I rang for a second emergency appointment today which was accommodated with no problem by reception. Sadly Casper was really poorly and needed to be euthanised, but Dawn was absolutely brilliant. She gave the family the time to say goodbye without being rushed, and helped affirm that the right decision had been made. A very painful experience was made more bearable by the care from the staff, so thank you.

I only have good things to say about this practice and people we have been with them from the start and would highly recommend them

The vets themselves are probably lovely - sadly I didn’t get to meet one. Receptionist I dealt with had a very poor attitude. Very poorly Rat that had been to an exotic vet at another V4P recently, who had advised euthanasia in 2/3 days if meds didn’t work and had given this V4P as one that was open this Saturday. Full expected and understood that it would be busy after Christmas but was surprised and disappointed by the complete lack of compassion shown by receptionist about fitting us in under the circumstances and the frankly snotty attitude when I politely challenged her over her approach. Put a call out elsewhere afterwards (not V4P) and was met with a far more pleasant receptionist who sorted us out and got us in for a euthanasia this morning. V4P practices aren’t linked but it is one brand and this experience with the receptionist at the Meteor Centre V4P has stopped me from registering the new puppy we got last week with any of them - we will be going to Scarsdale in Derby instead with him. I worked as a receptionist at a vets for many years myself, so I know what is and isn’t acceptable when you are dealing with owners in these situations. This was not OK.
