Everyone here was so kind and helpful when I had an emergency with my border terrier. The vet and her nurse were both very knowledgeable and helped me understand any issues, as well as taking great care of my dog- taking time to comfort us both. Extra thanks to the girl who worked behind the desk, she was professional, very kind and reassuring.

I attended my local vet on a Saturday morning after my cocker spaniel presented as unwell. After bloods, an ultrasound scan and an Xray he was found to have a large tumour on his spleen which my vet said needed to be removed as an emergency. My own vet has limited facilities with no overnight facility and so he was referred to Vets now for the spleen and tumour to be removed. I took him straight there. Upon arrival there were two receptions, one for vets now and one for the PDSA. There were a number of people waiting to be seen on the PDSA side with pets who appeared to be presenting with minor complaints. I was shocked to find that there was only one vet on duty who despite being lovely and very knowledgable could clearly not see everyone at the same time. This was apparently the norm. The impression of two receptions gives the impression there is more than one vet to service both vets now and the PDSA. I was quoted £3k for the operation however I was disappointed to find that my dog had not taken priority and that his lifesaving operation had been put back to later in the day. My own vets had sent through all of their findings so no other tests or scans were required. His tumour ruptured as it was taken out. The vet saved his life on this occasion however the delay could have resulted in a very different outcome. I did not hear anything for over 4 hours and had to contact them for an update. My vet did say that the vet did a very neat job of the stitches and the vet did save a sample that I was able to take away and have tested through my own vet’s and unfortunately it was cancerous. Vets now did also only request a £250 payment claiming the rest direct from my insurance. I have however requested that my own vet review their out of hours provision as going forwards I don’t feel confident my dog would receive the care I would expect when considering the costs involved. I deliberated between 3 and 4 stars taking all of the above into account however my boy is still here and going strong 💪🏼

Unfortunately we required the use of Vets Now on Christmas Day. We were welcomed by Paige who offered lots of reassurance. We then saw Gonçalo who had excellent ‘bedside’ manner despite our dog being quite nervous. He also could tell we were anxious about any prognosis so also treated us with empathy and compassion to what was happening. Everything was explained thoroughly, our dog was treated with extreme care and attention. Over the 24hrs he was with VetsNow we were kept updated and nothing was too much trouble. Thankfully he’s now on the mend. Big thanks to Gonçalo, Paige, Rebecca and Jacqueline and anybody else involved in the care of our boy who is now recovering at home. Always a scary experience, but not being in our hometown let alone own vets added to this but the service was exceptional and I’d definitely recommend! Building is brand new and clean with lots of rooms and modern facilities.
