Service very good and all staff we spoke to were helpful and considerate. Giving us plenty of options. I am unsure why the emergency appointment costs were so high, Although we were told of the cost before we went, It gave us pause for thought as to if it was a cost we could afford and for some people it might mean that their pet does not get the help they need, due to high costs of appointment. Asked if I wanted to claim on insurance would mean still having to pay most of the bill due to excess charges on insurance policy and then having my premiums increase significantly for the following year, due to making a claim. Hence only four stars.

I took my dog to Vets Now Peterborough (Byre veterinary surgery)after he had diarrhoea, was not himself, and had stopped eating and drinking. This started on Friday. I waited a day to see if he improved, but by Saturday he was no better and I had a strong feeling something was seriously wrong. Before admitting him, I was told a blood test was required. The emergency vet performed blood tests and told me the results were “clear.” I was reassured that my dog was fine, not dehydrated, and that he only had a fever and high temperature. The vet, Natalia, gave him an injection of Prevomax and 5mg Metacam, and told me it was good news, that I didn’t need to worry or spend more money, and that my dog could go home. I was also given oral medication (including Pro-Kolin/Prodale) to last until Monday. Despite repeatedly explaining that my dog had not eaten or drunk, I was reassured he was okay. Tragically, my dog died the following day, less than 24 hours after being seen. I am heartbroken. I spent a total of £630.25 and feel deeply let down, misled, and robbed of the chance for proper investigation or treatment when my instincts told me something was very wrong. The vet Natalia kept mentioning how she wanted to save me money and I told her I don’t want to save money I want my dog to be saved. Please do not use this veterinary.

A huge, heartfelt thank you from me and Daisy to the entire team at Vets Now Peterborough for the outstanding care they provided during an emergency referral. From the moment she was transferred, every member of staff was informative, kind, and extremely professional. The vets took the time to investigate her condition thoroughly, questioned the initial diagnosis carefully, and approached her case with genuine clinical curiosity rather than assumptions. Throughout her stay, I was kept regularly updated, reassured, and fully informed at every stage, which made an incredibly stressful situation much more manageable. A very special thank you to Dimitrios and Nataliya, who were directly responsible for her care. They were exceptional, calm, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and clear communication were outstanding, and they are without question the best veterinary professionals I have ever come across. I would also like to thank all of the nurses and wider veterinary team and the reception team. Their dedication, kindness, and teamwork did not go unnoticed.
