My partner took our second cat for vaccines with vets4pets and during the consultation the vet offered flea treatment. My partner declined as we have some at home and don’t need it to which the vets said ‘you may aswell take it as it’s included’ so my partner took it and was charged £25 for it. On realising this tried to return it and was denied. The receptionist was rude and infantilising. The next day I emailed the practice manager to complain about this and they said it’s unusual for them to sell flea treatment as it’s much cheaper OTC (£10) and so this didn’t happen and must’ve been miscommunication. They had no interest in checking cctv to verify events. No effort to resolve the issue and pretty much pushed us out of the door when we said we would have to change practices due to a break down in trust. It seems they don’t care to maintain clients and care more about grabbing money wherever they can. My first cat is highly energetic and the practice also wasn’t equipped to deal with this. They couldn’t complete the health check and couldn’t get all of the vaccine in either due to movement so I would just be cautious if you have a high energy animal taking them here. We used quarry vets to neuter our first cat and the experience was so much smoother and nicer! We were involved in all decisions and got break downs of prices on the invoice which was discussed with the vet who did the op.
