About

Werrington Veterinary Centre is a CVS Group practice in Peterborough treating small animals, exotic species, equines and farm animals. The practice offers a wide clinical range including acupuncture, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, physiotherapy, dentistry, in-house laboratory testing and palliative care. Grooming services are also available.

The breadth of clinical services at the Peterborough branch is notable, spanning both first-opinion and more advanced disciplines within a single site. Microchipping, vaccinations and routine surgery sit alongside specialist-interest areas such as ophthalmology and oncology, reducing the need for external referral in many cases.

A lot of Money, Money, Money & no compassion for my pet. Vaccinations - Bent the needle in my pets leg doing vaccinations, proceeded to then cover me in the whole nasal vaccine. Didn’t care about it, just was getting annoyed at me. Didn’t ask if I was a cancer patient or if anyone in my house was under going chemo as this could have been dangerous if so. Just wanted me and pet in and out. No compassion for my pet, that is very anxious of the vet. On a separate occasion, on a free health check up I got asked if pet was ok. I explained she’s just come out of a phantom pregnancy & is doing well! I had NO CONCERNS. To then all of a sudden I owe £35 because I mentioned she had, had a phantom pregnancy recently which changed it to a normal appointment??? Then to top it off, have them try push me to buy some sickness tablets at an additional £25 even though she wasn’t sick!. They the took anal glands of the pet plan, and then started refusing to do her nails also on pet plan because she was wriggly. She has always been wriggly, However before the change over they would always do it still , out the back. Surprise and surprise, they wanted £26 to now sedate her to do her nails. I decided to leave & got a bill for £230+ ( can’t remember the exact figures ) for apparently having “ to much treatment “ than what we had paid for on pet plan . I disputed this and it turns out it was completely inaccurate by 100s!!! Like I said it’s all just a lot of money and lack of care in my experience . Would not recommend.

When Werrington Vets first opened it was an independent and we always saw same vet (the original owner) but a change of ownership to a corporate company means if you see the same vet twice you're lucky. Prices are higher than other places and the standards to me are not as good as they were, I've been told one thing regarding treatment and then another which meant more costs. Yesterday 20 minutes after appointment time we were still waiting, no explanation, no emergencies, so had to leave as I had an appointment elsewhere. Now transferred my pet's care to an independent Vets who were recommended to me and is something I had been considering for a while.
