About

Westwards Veterinary Practice is an independent RCVS-accredited mixed practice in Campbeltown, serving the Kintyre peninsula. It treats small animals, equines, exotics and farm livestock, with services including dental care, surgery, nutritional advice, vaccinations and emergency cover.

Founded in the early 1900s, the practice has roots stretching back to 1919 when a veterinary surgeon was first recruited to serve Kintyre's farming community. It maintains in-house diagnostic and laboratory facilities alongside a surgical theatre, while large animal services are provided on an ambulatory basis across farms and stables.

When I moved to Kintyre I was a little apprehensive about finding a new vets for my dogs. Westwards have given my boys and me the professional care, kindness and service I really value. Thank you so much !!!!

I had to call out of hours at weekend. I found the vet (Dominic) to be very compassionate and dealt with the issue promptly and efficiently. It really was peace of mind to know they were only a call away and happy to help. All reception staff are just as efficient and compassionate. Thank you!

Our dog was unwell while we were on holiday. The surgery gave us a quick appointment and the vet gave her a thorough examination . There was nothing apparently wrong, and they offered another examination next day. By the morning she was back to her old self, so we did not need to take her back. Thanks to the vet and the other staff who were kindness itself.
