Corporate greed masquerading as local vets
Firstly I have no issue with the pet care or staff at Highcroft, but I have to warn others on the ridiculous costs they are charging, and advise you to go elsewhere.
My cat needed his front leg x-rayed after an unknown incident in the house March 2023, for this they quoted £980 at the consultation, even if I had insurance this is criminal! I queried it and was told that’s the price as we have to X-ray the whole leg.. yes just X-rays!
I asked another veterinary surgery to quote the same job and was told £350, that is an eye watering £680 less than Highcroft.
Highcroft is owned by CVS group, a big corporate, their annual statement makes an interesting read about how owners are willing to spend on their pets etc. Ultimately they are a business making money out of people who love their pets in a cost of living crisis, it’s not surprising that families are having to give up beloved pets when corporates like this can think of a number and triple it for vet fees .. I’ve moved both my cats from here and would advise anyone worried about rising costs to do the same.
@Highcroft Re your reply below, I cannot respond apart from to edit here, my response is that you’ve already had two opportunities when I initially spoke to the vet and queried the X-ray costs and when I came in to pay the consultation bill. Interestingly now that I have made my experience public you have the desire to discuss my feedback on your fees, a bit late don’t you think?
