Not our usual Vet(Seymours) but a necessary emergency visit to see our Cat Liza. Unfortunately a second visit the following day was needed as she was fading fast and you helped us make the hard decision to put her to sleep, it is never an easy decision, but we'd like to thank the Staff for their caring kind nature and professionalism in looking after Liza to the end.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely disgusted at your services. We rang up about our dog who had eaten a mince pie. We rang for advice we explained we weren’t in a financial state and wouldn’t be able to pay for anything the person on the phone told us to come straight down and they would sort it. When we got there they didn’t even explain what they was going to do they just took our dog off us and took her in to the room and gave her an injection to be sick. When it came to payments they then to proceed to tell us that there would be an excess cost of £85 when we had told them already on the phone we didn’t have the money. The lady was very rude and decided to leave us in a room for around 45 mins. When they came out to us they said we would got very rude and said we would be in debt with them. We have tried to settle this by making a payment beginning of january but they are saying this is to long to wait and that we have to pay within 2 weeks and if it’s not paid within there time frame then they will give it to there debt collector all for £77!!! Absolute joke. They expect people to have money growing out there ears. Highly recommend not using them because all they seem to think about is money not actually caring for peoples animals. Been hassling us every day for the money which we keep explaining to them I don’t get my first wage till January due to starting a new job Good thing I have insurance on my dog because if I didn’t the charges would have been hell of a lot more. HIGHLY RECCOMEND NOT USING!

Appalling and distressing service which effectively caused the death of our 6 year old, previously healthy, Beardie. They were told of his condition at the first appointment, but Totally ignored it. Despite much detailed written questioning about the service received, the director always refused to engage and avoided answering the complaints. She tried to confuse/belittle me by constantly resorting to technicalities, hoping to put me off, which she did not. When she realised that was not working, she resorted to sheer obfuscation aka - BS. I suspect she regularly does with other complainants. In any other profession Dart Vale vets would have been investigated, fined, sanctioned and the person responsible for the errors would probably have lost their qualification - if, indeed, we had been allocated a qualified vet...... Unfortunately, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons apparently has no power to sanction a member practice unless gross misconduct can be proved. So, unlike most other professions, the customer has no comeback at all !! Some of you may have heard the slating they got on BBC Radio 2 on the Steve Wright in the Afternoon programme in February 2024. He actually named them and that it was the Totnes branch. Be very very aware all Dart Vale vet users. I'll be watching for the response to this - if it isn't taken down first. 20th November 2025 I see Dart Vale are suggesting a cosy phone call when everything could be quietly brushed under the carpet.... What I am seeking is really very simple: 1. An apology for getting the treatment wrong, as clearly it did go very wrong. 2. A clear explanation of what went wrong, with no more obfuscation. Just a little honesty!
