About

Doorstep Vet is a mobile veterinary practice serving Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas. Operating from a custom-built van fitted out as a consulting room, the practice brings routine veterinary care directly to the home. Services include vaccinations, blood tests, health checks, palliative care and other consultation-based work.

The mobile format is particularly suited to animals that find clinic visits stressful, as well as owners with limited transport. For cases requiring surgery or advanced diagnostics, the practice works with a network of local clinics and can arrange referrals. It can also operate alongside an existing vet.

It was the hardest decision we ever had to make but the kindest to let our Sally go. From the first phone call to the vet Gemma and nurse Angela coming to our home. They were so kind and gentle with her she just got off my knee and lay Infront of the vet as if to say I'm ready to go, so peaceful and with dignity. They then left us alone with her to say goodbye. Our sally was 15 years and 8 months old she was a huge part of our lives. So thank you Door stop vets for helping Sally on her last journey x๐Ÿ’”

Yet again Doorstep Vet has provided an outstanding service and gone above and beyond my expectations. All members of the team have assisted in ensuring my two cats get the treatment they need in such a caring manner. My pets needs have come first, which cannot be said for experiences I have had elsewhere. I just can't recommend you highly enough, thank you so much.

December 22/25 Our Border Collie Mix Boomer has always been adverse to vet visits. Vet Jo, assistants Gabby & Angela are the best. We had a visit last week for vaccinations & check up for Boomer and everything went very well. He recently had surgery for torn ACL joint with pins & screws to support his knee. It has been around 4 months since he has been doing his normal daily routine of running around like a crazy dog, hence his weight is not ideal. Boomer is now more active, doing hydrotherapy, longer walks an every day. He has started on weight loss program with Doorstop Vet Team, monitoring his progress. We are delighted with their service and highly recommend to anyone. Thank you to all the staff. Bill & Tina Philipson
