About

Downland Veterinary Group's Hilsea branch in Portsmouth is one of twelve small animal clinics in a practice covering Hampshire and West Sussex under the IVC Evidensia network. The group was established in Chichester in 1946 and offers vaccination, surgery, nutrition advice and pet passport services.

The Hilsea clinic has a particular role within the group as the base for the out-of-hours emergency service, operated in partnership with Vets Now. This branch serves as the emergency hub for all Downland clients across the network.

Awful! Booked an appointment for a vaccination for my dog, I’ve been told that the booking has been made. When I came to the appointment, I’ve been told by the lady at the reception that we had no booking but she would talk to the vet. After 10 minutes, another client came, same situation, she couldn’t find their appointment. She then decided to prioritise the client that came afterwards, saying that she is sorry for us but we have to come another time, even if the other client had no emergency. That’s not the way you should treat new clients.
