
I contacted EVR seeking a specialist review for my young dog’s eye, with the aim of ensuring his comfort and welfare. Unfortunately, my experience with the referral process was very distressing.
During phone conversations with staff, I felt repeatedly interrupted and talked over while trying to explain my dog’s history and my concerns about repeating stressful tests he has already undergone multiple times with normal results. The interaction left me extremely upset.
I later raised these concerns formally. The written response I received focused on reframing the issue as a difference in my perception rather than acknowledging the impact of the conduct itself. This was particularly disheartening, as it left me feeling further dismissed rather than reassured.
While I understand that specialist clinics follow set protocols, respectful, two-way communication is just as important as clinical expertise. Ultimately, we chose not to pursue a referral here and are seeking alternative specialist support.
