About

Nirvana Vets is an independent home-visit veterinary service covering the Plymouth area, specialising in end-of-life care for companion animals. Founded by Sam Goldman MRCVS and Kate Bleasdale MRCVS, the practice provides home-visit euthanasia alongside palliative support, cardiology and orthopaedic consultations.

The service was established after Goldman completed training through the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA). By conducting end-of-life procedures in the familiar surroundings of the pet's home, the practice aims to reduce the stress associated with final veterinary visits for both animals and their owners.

We recently lost our little 13 year old Westie, Freddie. He was such a massive part of our family and has left a big hole. He was so loyal and loving and always by my side. Freddie was always extremely anxious when we had to visit the vets, and as he became older and more frail I worried about this, and didn’t want that to be his or our last memory. I feel so blessed to have discovered Nirvana vets . When I called them, Abi was so lovely and compassionate, and arranged for Sam to come to our home that day. Sam was equally lovely and so calm and gentle with Freddie . He gave us the time and space to say our goodbyes with Freddie cuddled on my lap. I feel so thankful that Nirvana vets allowed me to do that for our boy, and am very grateful to them for the comfort that brings. Thank you Sam and Abi, and the rest of your team for the special service you provide.

On September 30th. I had to make the very hard decision concerning my 13 year old German Shepherd Missy. Her heart was good but everything else was in decline and she had a stroke last year. After not eating hardly for nearly a week I was unable to get the necessary medication into her she was starting to suffer. I made the call to minerva vets. They came that same day. Missy welcomed Kate and even gave her a kiss so gentle. Kate made everything calm and peaceful for her and waited till Missy was totally relaxed my husband smoothing her head all the way through. I could not have wished for a better calmer end for my dog. 2 weeks later Kate personally returned missys ashes and wrote a beautiful personal card . Kate went above and beyond. Thank you Kate so very much for what you did exceptional service from start to finish.

We had to say goodbye to our precious boy ziggy 11 days ago, and having Sam come to our home where ziggy loved to be made the ordeal less traumatising than having to take him to the vets as he hated going there and would never ever have been an option,. Sam was caring and explained the process. We have had zigs for over 16 years and although losing him has left us as a family utterly bereft, i am thankful that Nirvana offer this service and helped our boy to go peacefully and quickly in our arms in his own home, he was returned to us today by lovely Georgina after having him individually cremated along with a lovely card from Sam and 2 paw impressions. . Thankyou again Rachael and family
