We were visiting family in Retford when our dog unfortunately became unwell. We contacted Portland Vets as an emergency, even though we were not registered there. We spoke to the front of house team and received a call back almost immediately from Ruth who advised us to bring our dog in for examination. Everyone we encounted at Portland was incredibly kind, thorough and had a genuine care for their patients - and us as owners! I thought the price was very reasonable, especially as we attended as an emergency consultation near closing time and saved us having to wait over 2 hours and paying an out of hours consultation at the out of hours vets in Worksop. Overall, I am so happy with the service we received and I could not be more grateful to the entire team at Portland - thank you from all of us!

Good vets ,prices extremely high, run by corporate company, moved my dogs to a independent vet and the prices are less than half for the same treatment, I can say they are like all vets very caring but like all corporate vets very expensive ,they need to pay share holders bonuses and pet owners are paying for it

My dog attended in an emergency situation out of hours with a very large wound down to the bone and tendon. Amy was amazing from the offset, she was so kind, knowledgeable and attentive, offering lots of reassurance about how her leg would heal. My dog had received first class care and attention from Amy and all of the Vet Nurses who dressed, monitored and managed her wound carefully. They all clearly care about animals. I am so thankful that 6 weeks on the wound has skinned and is healing nicely it’s truly amazing. I cannot thank everybody enough at Portland Vets Retford.
