I have used this surgery for over a decade and they had always been fine until I needed them for an emergency. Unfortunately my cat broke her leg and I bought her in to the practice, genuinely believing that they were independent veterinary surgeons who could fix the leg. They charged me a significant amount of money (several hundreds of pounds) for an X-ray only to tell me they couldn't fix the leg and they would have to refer me to another practice. When I went to the other practice, they said they would do their own X-rays (for around £90) and not even look at the ones Riverside vets did (they were confused why I would have to pay for X-rays at Riverside - the leg was hanging off). I also went to another vets who charged me around £80 for a set of X-rays. Riverside also put my cat under general anaesthetic despite this not being needed by the other two vets during follow up visit (general was only needed when she was having procedures carried out).
This vet is a corporate machine whose sole aim is to make money from you when you are at your most vulnerable. They are not independently owned like they come across - they are owned by a large chain - Independent Vetcare Ltd. Independent Vetcare Ltd, trading as IVC Evidensia, own 2500 vets over 20 countries. Partially owned by Nestle who is owned by investors who like to make MONEY.....
