Unfortunately, the behaviour of some reception staff lets this practice down. One particular receptionist regularly appears grumpy and speaks to clients in a sharp, unpleasant tone.
What I find most unacceptable is the lack of discretion. If you owe money or are required to do something, this is sometimes addressed loudly in front of the entire waiting room, which is embarrassing and completely inappropriate. Sensitive matters should be handled privately, not broadcast to other clients.
It’s disappointing, as the rest of the team work hard, but this kind of service creates an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere. Basic courtesy and professionalism at reception would make a significant difference.
