About

Vets4Pets Canterbury is a branch of the Vets4Pets group in the historic Kent city, treating small animals, exotics and farm species. Emergency cover is available alongside routine consultations and nurse-led clinics.

The clinical range includes behavioural consultations, cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, endoscopy and orthopaedics. Grooming and nutritional advice are offered on site. The breadth of specialist-interest areas, covering skin, eye and internal medicine alongside behavioural work, makes this one of the more broadly equipped branches in the group.

There was no empathy or kindness during the process of the passing of our family cat. I really would suggest the staff to be more considerate during difficult situations or take a course in how to deal with emotions.

Not attentive. Had to beg the vet to examine my rabbit. The vet just didn't seem to care. Prescribed some medication, but recommended the rabbit be put down. Said he couldn't figure out what was wrong. Went to another veterinary practice a few weeks later as he got ill again with the same issue. This vet examined the rabbit, tested reflexes diagnosed a spinal issue and provided treatment. Don't waste your time or money at this vets. Especially if you have a rabbit

I have been with this vets for about 10 years, with our old dogs and now our puppies. I have often questioned the morality of this veterinary practice over various things however last week was my tipping point. I took my 17 month old dog in to be spayed, it wasn't a vet booking her in, I believe it was a veterinary nurse. I went into the consultation room where he asked me about my contract details and my dogs dob etc, he then proceeded to tell me (without ANY examination of my dog), that there has been an increase in dogs going in to be spayed that are having phantom pregnancies (like it's contagious), well we know where this is going! He said he needed to take my dog to be checked by the vet for said phantom pregnancy, he can back with my dog 2 mins later stating that she is in deed having a phantom pregnancy as there was a small amount of fluid coming from her nipples, he didn't even consider that it could be anything else. He gave me 2 options either she goes through her next season and then I can take her back to be spayed or they can give me some medication to stop the said phantom pregnancy at the cost of £85 and then I can take her back in a couple of weeks to be spayed, my dog has not shown any signs of nesting, lethargy, reduced appetite etc. I lost it at that point as they clearly were either trying to extort more money out of me or they were short staffed and didn't have the staff to perform the op. I say this with confidence as I took my dog to another vet with excellent reviews and they spayed her yesterday, I specifically asked about the phantom pregnancy and they assured me that she did not show any real signs of a phantom pregnancy. So vets4pets have certainly lost our custom. Absolute daylight robbery and complete lack of caring about the welfare of animals. Disgusting and despicable behaviour and yes David is the most rude and arrogant vet you will come across. We should have left there years ago
