Had a further consultation with Elliot today. We felt genuinely heard at this visit. Elliot struck a kind, respectful balance between our concerns/wishes and his clinical expertise, it meant a lot to feel that we were making decisions together and that he is supporting our choices whilst ensuring our dog has quality of life entering his old age.

I’ve spent nearly £2,000 at Corner House Vets and still have no clear answers about what’s wrong with my two cats, both of whom are struggling with ongoing mouth and respiratory issues. Despite repeated visits, I feel like I’ve been pushed toward unnecessary and extremely expensive tests rather than genuine solutions. Recently, I was quoted £1,200 just for 1 dental X-ray and 2x mouth swabs to test for viruses like FIV, FeLV, and calicivirus, on top of the £68 consultation fee I’d already paid. (Bearing in mind they had already identified the issue with my cat with the mouth problems in the consultation). To make things worse, the vet refused to offer any treatment or relief for my cat’s gingivitis until I agreed to pay for these higher-end diagnostics. Also to note the consultation fee and prices of procedures and treatments are very overpriced in comparison to many other clinics in the area who offer the same level of service. I completely understand that proper testing is important, but there should also be compassion and flexibility, especially when pets are in obvious discomfort. Instead, I’ve come away feeling like the focus here is more on making money than helping animals. I’m now seeking a second opinion elsewhere from a more reasonably priced and transparent veterinary clinic. I’m deeply disappointed by this experience and would advise other pet owners to ask for itemised quotes and second opinions before agreeing to any major procedures at this practice.

Typical coperate owned vets where profit driven motives are more important than treating the animals ,especially those with complex needs or problems, our dear bulldog was left over 4 weeks with different diagnosis from different vets at this practice, not treated accordingly leading to a distressed dog and us as owners left to seek a second opinion at an independent extremely experienced vet who thankfully after an emergency op and still ongoing treatment has restored our faith in veterinary practices, this is not the 1st time one of our beloved dogs has been wrongly diagnosed at Corner House and I owe my dogs as an owner to get the best treatment and expert knowledge so have moved all four to the practice where they will be looked after with the best care and compassion ,and excellent facilities! In Whitstable!
