About

Newquay Vet is an independent practice in Newquay, Cornwall, covering small animals, equines, exotics and farm animals. It was established by Dr Steven Sawkins, a Royal Veterinary College graduate whose career has spanned equine, livestock and small animal work. Services include surgery and emergency care.

Dr Sawkins previously ran his own practice in central Bristol for 19 years before relocating permanently to Cornwall. His background across multiple species, from horses and cattle to companion animals, gives the practice a breadth of clinical experience uncommon in a single-vet coastal surgery.

Disappointed that I'm charged a £44 consultation fee on a pre agreed second visit which was for the second course of an anti inflammatory. Doesn't feel fair. I was expecting to only pay for the injection.

I found the vets to be lovely to deal with very friendly staff. The Vet is super calm, informative and compassionate attributes I feel are essential when dealing with what is a member of the family. My Roxie is 12 and I was worried her under going surgery, the Vet was confident and had no reservations whatsoever keeping Roxie’s quality of life as the focus we proceeded. Everything happened as he said and she is recovering well. The clinic is easily accessible with plenty of parking on site.
